Shoppers Searching For Last Minute Gifts In Chestnut Hill – CBS Kitchener

kitchener (CBS) – It’s Christmas Eve and there are some shoppers waiting until the last minute to find the perfect gift. The countdown is on before Santa Claus arrives in the Kitchener area.

There were plenty of people in Chestnut Hill on Thursday afternoon looking for their last minute gifts.

Shoppers now have hours left and Eyewitness News has determined that Busy Bee Toys is busy with customers.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only a limited number of people can be in the store at a time. However, people make an effort to shop in neighborhood stores even if they have to wait outside.

“It’s nice to be supporting the little shops around Chestnut Hill,” said Joe Lavin. “It’s also easier to keep social distance and it’s a nice setting.”

Busy Bee Toys’ Nerice Kendter says the support has been overwhelming.

“It was overwhelming for me and my colleagues here on Ave,” said Kendter. “The outpouring of love and care from everyone made a huge difference to everyone because, as you know, we have been closed for so long.”

In Center City, in the Christmas Village, the seasonal shopping destination officially closes on Thursday at 5 p.m. and many shopping centers close at 6 p.m.
