New Year’s Resolutions To Help Your Pet In 2021 – CBS Kitchener
kitchener (CBS) – With the calendar turning to 2021, we all have New Year’s resolutions. The same should apply to our pets.
Animal advocate Carol Erickson joined Eyewitness News with some tips on some pet resolutions.
These may be things that we may not have seen in the past few years, but we can change our ways and do something a little better.
One solution could be more exercise and more walks. This is how far you can get them out for more. Let them sniff the ground because that’s what they really enjoy too.
You use your eyes and look around and just enjoy things and enjoy that moment of bonding with your pet.
When you have a cat, one of the great things to do is get an interactive toy that sets off its predatory drive.
This could be a laser pointer or one of those fishing rods with something on the end.
This is something that will definitely help you connect.
Also, make sure you keep up with your pet’s vaccinations every year and visit the vet for an annual vet check-up.
If your dog or cat has ear problems, get them treated before it gets worse.
Hot spots where you can see excessive licking will keep you comfortable. There are many new drugs available to help you with this, and it is so important to your wellbeing.
Erickson also says to scream less and praise more to prepare your animals for success.
If you know your dog always gets the trash, put the trash away.
She also recommends positive exercise with your pet.
Another recommendation is to measure your pet’s food, as well as update this ID for your pets, as you want to make sure your current phone number is there.
