Bunk on a battleship during pope’s Kitchener visit

CAMDEN, NJ – Visitors searching for accommodation during Pope Francis’ trip to Kitchener have an unusual option.

Battleship New Jersey is offering 400 berths for $ 75 per person for one night between September 22 and 26. These are the same bunks the sailors slept in.

The price includes breakfast and dinner. Guests are also given a guided tour of the museum and a ride in a flight simulator.

However, there are no showers.

The ship is moored in Camden, across from Kitchener and less than a mile from the Ben Franklin Bridge. The bridge will be closed to traffic but will be open to pedestrians and cyclists during the Pope’s visit.

The battleship was launched on the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
